Catalin, here's that clip. This was recorded about November of last year I think (the talking in the background is Chris Liepe and Andy Cizek.) I was starting to "improve" a little more at this time and was starting to stick my heels in the sand in terms of how serious I was getting. I was determined to get better. The point of the exercise was to I think belt a bit and then also have a more open sound...but you'll hear the "for too long" with an emphasis on the chords closing (almost a pop) or like "gulp" for the "oh ooooh" that is intentional and what the main point was for the exercise. It was to be free but be able to also I think close your chords.
This is pre M2 thought process as a focus for me. Around this time I started having theories based on several things I'd observed and then heard...and was feeling like for me to get the sounds I wanted with the ease I wanted...belting and pulling chest was not going to be the answer so here we are now exploring M2 as a primary vocal function...anyway. I hope this gives you a little insight Catalin and you could maybe try the exercise for a few days and post an example and I can check it out.
