This is a great course for demystifying the mixed voice! Most vocal coaches overcomplicate things with endless jargon and try to teach in a way that’s almost impossible to grasp, using exercises that don’t actually connect with the singing voice. Starting with an understanding of M2, embracing the idea of actually using the head voice/falsetto as a solid tool, is something I’ve been seeking for years, and in Marc’s course I found a foundation! Now I must begin to correct the countless bad habits I’ve picked up after years of trial and error. Warm regards from Brazil, and see you in the next courses! (Message translated)
It's great to see that the thing is way more simple than we believe.
Awesome explanation! Made progress quickly watching these videos!
Right, so I followed the M2 Like A Stone exercise. I usually do them in M1, but for a couple of songs, I tried to do those notes in M2. And I did feel my muscles working differently as I never do M2 in that range. I tried to stay as chill as possible, but yeah, kinda had to work them a bit :)). After those 2-3 songs, I switched back to my regular way of changing voices, and I think I hit nirvana. And by nirvana, I mean SMS, on an actually difficult song (Seize The Day) I'll probably add more reviews in after I get more accustomed to the technique, but boy did it work...
Good.
Very good!!!!!!!!!!
Genio. Still need to work a little more on this but I got the idea pretty quickly and I can see it works, yeah.
like that smith's song ,this night has opened my eyes, for real, even so, its incredible when someone just gives you the truth, its so astounding that you keep thinking like, what???? for real????,great
Very informative, great technique for getting into M2
This was good... let's see what's next....
Very nice, thanks.
It was OK :-)
Thank you so much for this enlightening basics course. Especially the segments concerning the aperture of both the tongue area, allowing more area to move through, and the jaw itself (it can always be opened more than one already tends to do) certainly add a significant degree of resonance and fullness to the M2 range, even though mine already has a solid foundation. So you provided some key info that I hadn't considered, and am taking onboard in my practice, to already beneficial effect.
Awesome! Its great material, thanks
Absolutely Magic.
Awesome 😎
Marc is an excellent instructor. He makes me laugh a lot with his way of teaching using memes and funny sounds. I’ve had many instructors, but none like Marc. The teachers out there will squeeze every last penny out of you and will never explain your falsetto or the M2 mechanism. Everyone will tell you to push your voice until you eventually lose it. They’ll all swear that by doing "Nay, nay, nay, nay," you’ll get far and see progress. Marc is nothing like that—he’s precise, straight to the point, funny, and he even gives us kind of "homework" to keep strengthening our M2. I’m a fan of Freddie Mercury, but I have to say it: compared to Chester Bennington or Chris Cornell, his technique for singing live was terrible. Just pushing his M1. That’s why Marc Martel shines so much more on stage with 80 tours a year. Speaking of this course—it's amazing! The "transition" is so smooth that I could say it doesn’t even exist! People can’t tell when I switch from M1 to M2. It’s incredible, and now I really feel comfortable singing. No strain, no pushing, just M2. Stay hydrated! God Save The M2 Academy. God bless Marc, and God bless you all.
I love how concise but informative this course is. The emphasis on the simple reality that there are defined laryngeal mechanisms that cannot truly be "mixed" is a very helpful paradigm shift, and the humorous delivery of it, in combination with great demonstrations, makes for a very memorable introduction to the subject matter.
It's a kind of magic! This course really helped me improve my M2. I can truly say that Marc is the best instructor in the world! Without those boring naynaynay exercises and so on, the techniques are as crazy as the paper cone one, but they work! I recommend it to everyone—I can sing any song with an M2 that sounds very chesty. Even All By Myself by Celine Dion! Thank you, Marc.
What I like here is the simplicity. Not feeling constantly overwhelmed by watching hours of empty singing content is a nice change of pace. The roadmaps and the method are clear and concise 👍
I was stuck on stage 3 for a while, but this made me realize I was trying to skip a full step. Makes a lot of sense and gives me a new sense of direction, thank you
I'm interested. One issue is that my m1 seems to want to flip at B3/C4 which seems really low. I can keep going until G4 in m1 but it's not too pretty. Should I switch to m2 at C4?
Fantastic. Thanks for the tracks, Marc.
Short and to the point.
another great one. I have experienced this sensation but definitely isolating that feeling I think will be huge for balance and getting that fuller sound when pressing into distortion or just blending my sounds!
I've really enjoyed the course. I've been singing for a while and have made a lot of progress going into these courses. But I really liked the ideas Marc was exploring and I'd been building the same ideas in my mind that there had to be something easier and more effortless and sustainable live. There was no way grind M1 all the time and just to hang onto a mix in the middle section was something you could do night after night and live for an hour two. This material is something to take seriously and work on!
Marc knows his stuff and has explained it in a clear way that with some work you can for sure blend your voices into a nice seamless single voice. YOUR voice
I enjoy Marc's straight forward teaching style. Looking forward to the next couple of courses.
this course completely changed my perspective in singing, before i believed in the "baritone curse" and wanted to give up on signing, but now i know that range doesn't even matter that much. I learned to appreciate my M2 voice and use it more than i did before.
it's a really different approach to signing, nobody's talking about this and im glad i found marc's channel, because i was so desperate and tired of vocal coaches telling me to push my voice in M1
Learning that there's no mixed voice is a game changer.
"Mastering the Illusion" is an exceptional follow-up to the "M2 Academy Method" course. If you're looking to seamlessly connect your chest voice and head voice without any noticeable breaks, this advanced course is exactly what you need. The content is rich with valuable insights that are difficult to find elsewhere, especially for free on platforms like YouTube. It teaches you how to navigate the tricky transition between registers and master the art of smooth, effortless vocal shifts. Highly recommended for any singer serious about refining their technique and developing full vocal control!
there is so much valuable information out here! This course focuses on changing a mentality from being a baritone to a tenor and giving you a different mindset for using voice as one.it is an excellent "booster" for the M2 academy method and mastering the illusion course so you can see the bigger picture and put pieces of the puzzle together.
verry nice and real help full
verry good course i learnd a lot thanks marc
Awesome
good course and lessons it works ..great
i like this course and learnd a lot of it thanx marc
This is an interesting point of view. I don't know how to get there yet, but I'll try by finding more information. If I could have the money it requires me, I'd pay for it but, It will be later, I think. Greetings and thanks.
I got Instant Mixed Voice and Distortion on the same day, and since they're both pretty short, I decided to watch them on one sitting. I left a review on the first one because I was shocked that everything could be explained in just 40 minutes. But this course? 15 minutes? Now, I'm not saying it's going to transform your singing overnight—I've still got some work to do to apply it myself—but it does unlock distortion instantly. I remember watching at least 8 distortion videos on YouTube (probably a solid 50 minutes wasted), and all they did was confuse me more. But this? It's fantastic. If Instant Mixed Voice was a solid 5 stars, this one might just deserve... 6? 😂 Sorry Marc 😂
I got this course thinking I'd get just a few tips on mixed voice at most. Honestly, I assumed the title was more of a marketing gimmick. I had no idea the basics could actually be covered in such a short time. Marc explains the exact steps needed perfectly. You've been forgiven for the five emails 😂
TL;DR: an extra vocal sound for 1/2 the price of a distortion pedal for your electric guitar. I could always intuitively add grit to my voice, but I never knew how I did it or if it was safe for my voice. So having the concept broken down and explained step-by-step was helpful. Like with Instant Mixed Voice, Marc made a to-the-point course on a sustainable form of vocal distortion. It's probably stated somewhere, but you will need to access the M2 mixed voice and also vocal fry for quickest results. But the technique is not difficult to learn, as the description suggests. I was able to learn in minutes (still need to refine and practice though). For the rock star: this course is absolutely worth paying for For everyone else: unless you're planning to always sing with a clean tone, still worth it. It's an extra vocal option at half the price of an electric guitar distortion pedal.
I recently completed this course, and it was truly exceptional! It focuses on developing a strong falsetto, which lays a solid foundation for hitting high notes and even lower ones, no matter your musical style or genre. Many of the exercises yielded immediate results, which kept me motivated throughout the learning process. Don't let the straightforward presentation fool you; the content is incredibly valuable and practical. I highly recommend this course to anyone serious about enhancing their singing skills!
The way you explain 'balance' is the only approach that doesn't leave me totally frustrated. Seriously, why do other coaches never make it clear that the balance we're aiming for is exactly like this, instead of some bizarre, impossible middle ground that drives you crazy trying to find? It's honestly ridiculous, and now that I see it, I can’t believe I didn’t realize it sooner. But Marc? He gets it. The way he broke down the M1/M2 disconnection in the first course completely changed my understanding of what 'balance' actually means, and he demonstrates it perfectly in this course. This whole program has cleared SO much confusion for me. Thank you.
I went in not really knowing what to expect, but this actually makes a lot of sense.
I watched one of Marc's videos on youtube in which he spoke of the M2 mechanism. So, I decided to give it a try! After all, what did I have to lose? Nothing! I have to say that I have been struggling with high notes for a long time. And by high notes I mean, E4 up to A4, not really high! In the first few attempts with Marc's method, in this course, I reached C5 and D5, and most important of all, maybe, I could repeat it at will. Everything is pretty much as he describes in his videos about developing the M2 mechanism and perfecting it. I have been following Marc's method for a few months now and it made a lot of difference in singing my repertoire which has many notes around the passaggio area of the voice, in my case around E4, F4 or F#4. The songs I sing go up to A4 or B4, and Marc's method made me improve a lot! My M2 mechanism is developing faster than I expected, because I have rarely used it in my whole life, and certainly not for singing! For me this is the best teaching I have ever had, because it worked, because it was made simple and it makes sense.
If you look hard enough, you might be able to piece this together with a few weeks-months of searching Youtube. The problem with that approach is filtering what works and what doesn't. Marc's explanation of support is succinct but the best explanation I've heard. I got it as a freebie with the M2 academy method, but it's still worth the money, especially if you don't want to crawl Youtube and figure out who's BS'ing and who knows what they are talking about.
Very base level understanding and prepares you for guiding the singing journey. I like it! A+!!!
Dude, thank you so much for creating an ACTUAL guide to increasing my vocal range. I can't believe how simple it could've been this whole time. I've only been at it for a week, but I'm already seeing some progress... now I just wish I could get back all the time I wasted before.
